Blackberry error code and solution

300-303 Bad load
Run Application Loader to reload the operating system and applications onto the handheld.

395 Unclassified error code
You receive the following error message on the handheld:
Device Error 395

Cause

Device Error 395 is an unclassified error code. This error can be caused by a third party application installed on the handheld.

Solution 1


Perform a hard reset on the handheld: Shut down, remove the battery wait a few second... replace battery then see when happens when it starts.

Solution 2

Erase and reload the data on the handheld.
1. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, use the Backup and Restore tool to create a backup file of the data on your handheld. For instructions, see “Back up handheld information” in the Desktop Manager Online Help.Warning: The following steps will erase the data on the handheld.
2. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, double-click the Application Loader icon.
3. Click Next. The Handheld Application Selection window appears.
4. Verify that the correct applications are selected, then click Next.
5. Click Advanced.
6. Select the option for Erase all application data and Erase all currently installed applications, then click Next.
7. Click Finish. The data on the handheld is erased, while the operating system and applications are reloaded onto the handheld.
8. Use the Backup and Restore tool to restore to the handheld the data saved in the backup file. For instructions, see “Restore handheld information” in the Desktop Manager Online Help.

400-564 Page faults
Run Application Loader to reload the operating system and applications onto the handheld.

310-314 Hardware failure
Perform a hard reset on the handheld: Shut down, remove the battery wait a few second... replace battery then see when happens when it starts.
OR
Run Application Loader to reload the operating system and applications onto the handheld.
Note: If these tasks do not resolve the error, contact your service provider.

320-325 AMX failure
Run Application Loader to reload the operating system and applications onto the handheld.

330-339 Application tasks failure

Run Application Loader to reload the operating system and applications onto the handheld.

340-343 Memory failure
You receive one the following error messages on your handheld:
Device Error 340
Device Error 341
Device Error 342
Device Error 343


Cause

Memory failure.

Solution

Reduce the number of calendar appointments synchronized to your handheld.
1. In BlackBerry? Desktop Manager, double-click the Intellisync icon.
Click Configure PIM. The Handheld Configuration window appears.
2. In the Handheld Applications list, select Calendar.
3. Click Configure > Advanced Settings. The Advanced Settings for Calendar window appears.
4. In the Date Range tab, perform one of the following tasks to reduce the number of calendar appointments synchronized to your handheld:
If you click the Transfer only Future items option, only future calendar appointments will be synchronzied to your handheld.
If you click the Transfer items within a range of Days option and enter date range in the fields provided, only the calendar appointments that scheduled within the date range will be synchronized to your handheld.
5. Click OK to save your changes and close the window.
7. In the Handheld Configuration window, ensure that the check box beside the Calendar application is selected, then click OK.
8. In the Intellisync window, ensure that the Synchronize PIM check box is selected, then click Synchronize Now. The number of calendar entries on your handheld is reduced.
If you still receive the error
Run Application Loader to reload the operating system and applications onto your handheld.

350-359 Software application failure
You receive one of the following error messages on your handheld:
Device Error 350
Device Error 352
Device Error 353
Device Error 354
Device Error 355
Device Error 356
Device Error 357
Device Error 358
Device Error 359


Cause

Software application failure.

Solution

Perform a hard reset on the handheld.
OR
Run Application Loader to reload the operating system and applications onto your handheld. In the Application Loader Wizard window, do not select any third party applications. In the Advanced options, select the Erase all currently installed applications check box

360-363 Flash memory failure
Run Application Loader to reload the operating system and applications onto the handheld.

365-368 This one is often followed by "OHHH @&#%!!"
Contact your service provider.

410 Radio failure
Run Application Loader to reload the operating system and applications onto the handheld.
Note: If this task does not resolve the error, contact your service provider.

507 No applications on handheld
You receive one of the following errors on your BlackBerry device while using Application Loader to install device software:


Device Error 505
Device Error 507


Both errors indicate that no applications are loaded on the BlackBerry device.

Cause 1

During the Application Loader process, the existing applications on the BlackBerry device were erased, but Application Loader failed to load the new applications.

Solution

Complete the following steps:
1. Verify that device software is installed on your computer.
2. If your BlackBerry device is connected to a laptop in a docking station, disconnect the laptop from the docking station and connect the device directly to the laptop.
3. If a third-party program (e.g. virus scanner) is using the same COM port as BlackBerry Desktop Manager, close the third-party application to free the COM port.
4. If you are using a USB adapter to connect your BlackBerry device to a serial port on your computer, temporarily connect your device to a computer with a USB port.
5. In Desktop Manager, double-click Application Loader.
6. Use Application Loader to install the device software.

Cause 2

You erased all the data and applications on your BlackBerry device by typing an incorrect password ten times in Application Loader.

Solution

Complete the following steps:
1. In Desktop Manager, double-click Application Loader.
2. Use Application Loader to install the device software

Enter Unlock Code on BlackBerry


How to enter Unlock Code on BlackBerry ?


Model : All Blackberry Models (except T-mobile - process for T-mobile is below)

1 - Using the menu go to Options -> Advance options -> Sim card
2 - While holding the SHIFT key, type MEPD or (MEPPD for Vodafone Handsets)
3 - You should now see the five locking categories listed.

4 - While holding the SHIFT KEY, type MEP2 or (MEPP2 for Vodafone handsets)
5 - Release the shift key.
6 - You are now prompted to enter the Network MEP code (it will also state how many attempts left)
7 - Enter the code
8 - Enter Return/Enter
9 - The device should then be unlocked

Model : T-mobile Blackberry Models

1 - On the Home screen, click the Tools icon. The Options screen appears.
2 - In the tools screen, select the Settings icon.
3 - Scroll to SIM Card and select it. You should see the phone number and the SIM ID number.
4 - Type 'mepd' to display the first five levels of SIM locking.

T-Mobile uses network locking so the Network should display Active. All other states should display Disabled

Please note: For the Blackberry 7100t you will hit the "P" twice when entering the 'mepd' and 'mep2' for steps 4 & 5.


5 - Type 'mep2' to display the dialog box asking for the unlock code (Press the Alt + 2 key to get the number 2)
6 - Input the Network Unlock code
7 - Press ENTER and reboot handheld.

Model : Blackberry Pearl 8100 (Alternative instructions if the 'All blackberry models' instructions above do not work)

*****Can be done without a sim card inserted*****

To Unlock:

1 - While on the home screen, click the "blackberry key" on keyboard, then select "options".
2 - Choose "Advanced Options".
3 - Select "Sim Card"
4 - There is no area to type these letters, you just type them as instructed. No need to hit keys twice to get a letter either. Type m e p p d to display the first five levels of SIM locking. Most companies use network locking so the Network should display Active. All other states should display Disabled ( you will not see text appear on screen
while typing )
5 - Type m e p p 2 to display the dialog box asking for the unlock code
(Press the Alt + 2 key to get the number 2) ( you will not see text
appear on screen while typing )
6 - Input the SIM Unlock code
7 - Press in the trackball in once


Model : Blackberry Storm (9500)
1. Insert any sim card
2. Turn off all of the wireless connections
3. Go to Options
4. Select Advanced Options
5. Select SIM Card
6. Hit menu select show keyboard
7. Enter mepd (you will not be able to see the typed info)
8. Enter mep2
9. Now it will say enter network mep code

Model : Blackberry Pearl 8700 / 8300 Curve
1 Insert an accepted SIM into device
2 Power phone on and Turn off the radio (Turn Wireless Off option) VERY IMPORTANT.
3 Select "Options"
4 Select "Advanced Options"
5 Scroll down and select "SIM Card"
6 Type "MEPD"
7 Type "MEP2"
8 Enter the Unlock Code (you may need to hold down ALT to enter numbers)
9 Press enter
10 Reboot device.
Device is now unlocked.

Model : Blackberry 8700 / 8707
***** You must have a SIM card in your phone to complete these steps ( Can be active or inactive ) *****
1. Go to settings
2. Go to options
3. Go to advanced options
4. Go to sim card
5. Hold the ALT Key while typing in MEPE ( not case sensitive ) ( you will not see text appear on screen while typing )
6. It will say "Enter Network MEP Code, then you type in the unlock code, press in the jog dial to confirm
7. Your phone is now unlocked


Model : Blackberry Curve, 8300, 8320, 8800, 8820

Can be done without a sim card inserted
1. Go to settings
2 Go to options
3. Go to advanced options
4. Go to sim card
5. Hold the ALT Key while typing in MEPE ( not case sensitive ) ( you will not see text appear on screen while typing )
6. It will say "Enter Network MEP Code, then you type in the unlock code, press in the trackball to confirm
7. Your phone is now unlocked


Model : Blackberry 7100 / 7130

To Unlock:
1. On the Home screen, click the Tools icon. The Options screen appears.
2. In the tools screen, select the Settings icon.
3. Scroll to SIM Card and select it. You should see the phone number and the SIM ID number.
4.Type ‘mepp2' to display the dialog box asking for the unlock code(Press the Alt + 2 key to get the number 2) ( you will not see text appear on screen while typing )
5. Input the SIM Unlock code
6. Press in the jog dial once


Model : Blackberry 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx ( Except for 7100 )

1. Go to options
2 Scroll to SIM CARD then press jog dial in once to select it
3. Type MEPD (not case sensitive) ( you will not see text appear on screen while typing )
4. Does it say Network active? if so your phone is locked
5. Press and hold the alt key (half moon looking key on the lower left side)
6. As you are holding the alt key type in MEPE (not case sensitive) ( you will not see text appear on screen while typing )
7. Type in the unlock code when prompted
8. After entering the code press the jog dial in
9. Your phone is now unlocked!
